Merry Christmas! I hope your day is as happy as this small (about 4" x 10") painting I found at a garage sale that captures a happy, child-like winter's day. I estimate it's from the 1970's. Doesn't it make you smile?

Yes, I really do live in a little pink house, along with my husband, Max the dog, and one pesky cat. Life is like an artichoke: If you work at peeling and then cast away the harsh, unimportant and sometimes bitter parts, eventually, if you’re lucky, you’ll find the delicate, and delicious heart of what you’ve been seeking: something that really matters and makes you happy. Making and selling vintage-inspired creations takes me to a place where I feel no passage of time, no hunger, pain, no hot or cold, as the ideas in my mind come into being. That's the heart of the artichoke for me!
...the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.
-Lucy Maud Montgomery
What a sweet picture! I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas!

What a charming picture. I love that. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI really do love this picture, especially the canvas/linen matting. It would look great over a doorway, if it fits.
